NEO-CRAFT & ECO-DESIGN

From the combination of traditional Japanese basketry and technological progress comes Paperband and the art of “Kamiband” (interweave with paper bands: Kami = paper, Band = band). The Kamiband is considered not only part of the Japanese culture; its clean production process has turned it into an ecological craft or Ekoshugei.

Transforming recycled materials into new products is a growing global trend and at KAMI we are committed to sustainable development and contribute to safeguarding the planet. Paperband is recovered paper suitable for use in art, eco-design and new craft.

Craftmen teachers, designers and eco-designers, interior designers, eco-interior designers, window dressers, space designers or art directors can already count on Paperband in their projects, contributing innovation in the use of a new format of high quality paper, with characteristics that make it unique and thus help to recover the value of the old trades.
